Job Summary

The J. Paul Getty Trust (“Getty”) is a leading international cultural and arts institution based in Los Angeles. The Trust is comprised of four distinct Programs: the Getty Conservation Institute , the Getty Foundation , the Getty Research Institute , and the J. Paul Getty Museum . These four Programs work independently and collaboratively to preserve and present the world’s cultural heritage through their collections, exhibitions, conservation work, research, scholarship, and philanthropy.

With a global presence and impact, Getty is seeking an accomplished andforward-thinkingindividual as its next Vice President (VP) ofAdvancement. Thisleadershiprole is vital to advancing Getty’s partnership and fundraising efforts on a global scale and building and managing strategic partnerships to support our mission worldwide.

An experienced fundraiser and strategic communicator, the VP ofAdvancementwill:

Oversee all fundraising, including transformative gifts from individual donors;

Set annual and multi-year goals, develop and implement plans to achieve those goals, and forge new relationships to build Getty’s visibility; and

Serve as the lead visionary and strategist for the institutionaladvancementteam, fostering acollaborativeculture among staff, and leading an effective development program while keeping the organization’s mission at the forefront.

Job Responsibilities

Design and execute an annual fundraising strategy that includes, but is not limited to, individual giving, planned giving, and special events.

Actively participate in executiveleadershipmeetings and contribute to strategic discussions. Work with the CEO and other executives in defining business plans that support the organization’s strategic priorities with a growth mindset, creative ideas, and clear vision for how theAdvancementteam will support and be integrated into the plan.
