Position: United Way Philanthropy Officer Role
Drive community impact as a Philanthropy Officer at United Way of Calgary. This role centers on enhancing fundraising by developing relationships with mid-level and major donors.
Reporting directly to the Manager – Major Gifts, you’ll engage meaningfully with donors and volunteers while supporting fundraising initiatives. Your experience in individual gift fundraising and relationship management will be pivotal to achieving our organization’s goals. Be prepared for evening and weekend commitments for donor events and other tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Actively prospect for mid-level and major gifts
• Build and maintain relationships with donors and volunteers
• Use CRM tools to track donor communications
• Work alongside Individual Giving and Corporate Accounts teams
• Achieve and report on fundraising metrics for your portfolio
Requirements:
• Proven experience in individual gift fundraising
• Strong knowledge of fundraising principles and donor motivations
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
• Understanding of tax implications in charitable giving
• Preferred post-secondary education background
