Position
The Training and Content Specialist (T&CS), reports to the Senior Consulting Director of WCI and is responsible for the content creation and review, training, and other administrative tasks assigned to WCI, Palmer Home’s proprietary approach to caring for children and their support structure. This contract position would serve about 5-10 hours a week.
In addition, as opportunities emerge within the broader community, the following roles and responsibilities extend to other organizations who partner with Whole Child to implement Model of Care within their own system.
Responsibilities
Assist with development of the WCI Program, Curriculum and Strategy.
Deliver WCI training (TSC, TRC) as a dynamic and competent professional.
Deliver and meet tasks within an appointed timeline.
Assist with the timely and effective implementation of Model of Care within partner organizations.
Provide expertise and consultation to liaisons, both within and external to WCI/PHC.
Partner with the organizational liaisons to assess organizational culture, existing systems, and policies and practices, to identify areas where trauma informed care can be integrated. Develop and deliver customized training/consultation to educate partner organizations at all levels about trauma, its impact and trauma informed approaches – this includes all preparation and coordination related to training elements/logistics (registration, training environment, training materials and pre/post communication and surveys)
Partner with liaisons to identify and coordinate other trauma informed resources for in-service training to staff and volunteers.
Train and mentor designated Whole Child Trainers to facilitate foundational organizational training, ensuring sustainable trauma informed change across partner organizations.
Partner with liaisons to ensure competent and effective implementation of Whole Child Reviews.
Develop and provide sustaining resources and tools to partner organizations that support the implementation of trauma informed care. These resources include written communication and resources (i.e. Connection Point, Whole Child Review tools), and tailored consultation, training or speaking engagements that serve to promote the mission of Whole Child and reinforce Whole Child’s philosophy of care.
Create and maintain a productive and cooperative working environment based upon accountability and mutual respect.
Stay updated with the latest research, trends and best practices in trauma informed care to continuously improve services to partner organizations. Apply applicable updates to WCI material.
Establish evaluation measures to assess the effectiveness of Whole Child resources, training and framework implementation.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field preferred and have 5 or more years of experience in the field.
Certification or Specialized training/experience in Trauma informed Care
Experience delivering trauma informed care training preferred
Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
Ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with diverse individuals and groups.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in using technology for training and assessment purposes.
Empathy, compassion and a commitment to promoting trauma informed culture and practices.
Willingness to travel.
Training content development experience preferred.
Ability to work independently as well as contribute successfully within a team environment when requested.
