The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC) is a national youth program for Americans aged 13 through 17, dedicated to developing skills in basic seamanship and naval operations while instilling patriotism, courage, and self-reliance. Cadets train aboard U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships, as well as shore-based activities, wearing Navy uniforms with Sea Cadet Corps insignia. With approximately 400 units across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Guam, the program provides equal opportunities for all youth, regardless of race, color, religion, or sex.
In addition, we host Sea Cadet Training Center (SCTC) Buffalo, which serves as a recruit and advanced training location and headquarters for the Regional Director of Empire Region 3-4, USNSCC.

Role Description
This is a hybrid volunteer role for a Training Officer in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls area, with some work-from-homeflexibility. The Training Officer is responsible for:
Maintaining officer and cadet training records
Facilitating advancement exams for cadets
Requesting advancement training for officers
Tracking cadet progress through training
Organizing training materials
Coordinating with the Commanding Officer of SCTC Buffalo to ensure the timely submission of summer and winter cycle trainings via Magellan, the internal Sea Cadet system
Applicants must join the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. While they may join as a non-uniformed Auxiliarist, preference is given to those willing to wear the uniform.
This role requires an attendance commitment of 80% of drills, held one weekend per month. All members must adhere to USNSCC regulations.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in training and development, youth programs, or military training (preferred)
Strong analytical skills for assessing training needs and outcomes
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Passion for youth development and mentorship
