The Vocational Training Coordinator is responsible for providing training and workshops to participants and staff in vocational, occupational, andskilled trades. As a Vocational Training Coordinator, this position will network with contacts from different trade sectors to keep up with trends. This position engages witheducationproviders and coordinates apprenticeship opportunities to help the transition of learners from training to employment.
This position also establishescollaborative partnershipswith vocationaleducationpartners, securing onsite instruction for participants and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementing and managing training services and activities designed to assess, develop, and maximize work skills.
Responsible for documenting individual results of training activity.
Responsible for preparing and analyzing statistical data of training services and activities.
Conduct needs assessments throughout the divisions utilizing surveys, focus groups, meetings, or interviews in order to gain the information needed to evaluate soft skills training needs and training programs.
Support and sustain a culture conducive to adult learning andprofessional growth.
Direct structured learning experiences and perform evaluations and redesigns of training, as necessary, to ensure they meet the standards set forth by the divisions.
Maintain knowledge of new trends and tools in adult learning.
Coordinate the development of instructional materials, aids, and manuals.
Implement, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of the training activity.
Develop and recommend performance goals and objectives for the operating unit, including new training techniques.
Education and Experience:B.S. Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work,Education, Business, or related discipline. Minimum 6 – 8 years in the human services field or providing training andprofessional developmentservices. Computer literate (Word, Excel). Excellent organization,communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to write reports. Must be an energetic team player who possesses the desire to positively impact the community and create significant change in the lives of others.
