While AI will eliminate administrative jobs, it will simultaneously create unprecedented access to self-employment for skilled services (decorative art, murals, carpentry, housekeeping).
It’s not a matter of if this will happen, but who will own the technology?
Will it be profit-driven corporations with shareholders demanding they squeeze every dollar from service providers? Or will it be a non-profit with no financial incentive to exploit the very people it aims to help?
We already have the technology to make this a reality, Now we’re building Hometown as a permanent non-profit shield against corporate capture of the technology.
Our mission is to ensure skilled individuals remain truly independent, keeping 100% of what they earn with no hidden fees or corporate interests extracting value from their labor.

All we ask in return as you become a vocal advocate for our movement. Our income will come from offering microloans, insurance, etc. The necessities of running a business.
While skeptics claim we need big investors, I believe they underestimate the collective power of people fed up with corporations crushing small businesses.
How our technology works
Our existing technology finds you jobs doing what you want, schedules them when you want, and charges what you want. Check out our website here:
It’s not remarkably complicated. People choose the services they want to offer on our marketplace, where to offer them, set estimated prices and completion times, then choose all the hours they are not available to work. Consumers then schedule these services during the hours the provider leaves open. This process runs people’s business by providing, scheduling, and managing jobs.
We’re raising funds for an AI assistant that automates this process. It’s a chat-based interface that coordinates job demands with consumers, then uses the above data to automatically schedule services. This will become the heart of everyone’s business, and this is what we have to protect from corporate capture.
