Durham NC’s EvE Bio is looking for a receptor biochemist/pharmacologist to join its assay development group at the scientist level. This is a temporary position (5 months) that has the potential to transition to a permanent position. Transition from a temporary position to a permanent position will be determined in part based upon a 4 month performance review, as well as the company’s needs.
In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for adapting existing and/or developing novel biochemical and/or cell line-based assays for assessing the pharmacology of compounds at various target families, including G protein-coupled receptors, protein kinases, and others. Candidates must have experience working with one or multiple of these receptor families, including experience assessing their activity in cell-based assays, preferably in a drug development/discovery context. Candidates should also have experience in molecular biology (e.g., cloning) and/or tissue culture.

Requirements
BS or higher degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., biology, chemistry, pharmacology)
Experience with biochemical and/or cell-based receptor assays
Molecular biology techniques
Tissue culture techniques
Creative, outside-of-the-box thinking
An ability to work both independently and with a team
Fluent in written and spoken English
A resident of North Carolina’s Research Triangle (relocation benefits are not offered for this
position)
