What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Plan, lead, and implement parenting, educational, independent living skills, and recreational activities during assigned shifts
Build positive relationships with program participants and foster connections with mothers and their children
Effectively manage groups of children, ensuring adherence to agency policies and maintaining appropriate discipline
Conduct safety checks to maintain a safe physical environment for all participants
Provide input into treatment plans during interdisciplinary team meetings
What Is Required (Qualifications)
Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred in Human Services, Education, Psychology, or related field
Minimum of 6 months of experience in the human services field or child welfare, working with children and adolescents
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with valid vehicle insurance
Experience with computer software and trauma-informed care
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with good critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience working with pregnant and parenting populations
Familiarity with documentation protocols in a residential setting
Skills in de-escalation and stress management
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of culturally competent practices
