POSITION SUMMARY:
The TeenLeadershipCoordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the implementation of the day-to-day Leaders in Training (LIT) and Counselor in Training (CIT) programs at camp.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Directs supervision and training of all LIT and CITs and provides directleadershipfor each program.
Develops and implements weekly schedule to include a variety of youth-relatedleadershipactivities.
Evaluates youth involved in each program and maintains records of the program.
Develops an LIT and CIT program schedule prior to the start ofstaff training.
Selects as well as oversees otherleadershipcounselors who will be assisting in the implementation of the program.
Submits program evaluation with recommendations for the following year.
Creates a climate in camp that will foster the goals and objectives of the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit and YMCA Camping Services.
Completes any other duties deemed necessary by the Program Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to supervise and organize employees and volunteers under theLeadershipProgram.
Must have or be willing to complete the Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course.
Varied background and experience in camping, aquatics, and working with children.
General understanding of the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit – YMCA Camping Services goals and objectives.

Ability to plan, lead, and participate in all physical activities.

Capability to be actively engaging with youth outdoors for the majority of the day.
