Smoky Mountain Children’s Home, a faith-based non-profit organization, is seeking a Team Leader to serve the Sevierville, Tennessee, Residential Program. In this role, you will be in a position to make a positive difference in the lives of at-risk youth. You will join a team of dedicated individuals who oversee all aspects of welfare for an assigned caseload of at-risk youth.

Summary

The purpose of the Team Leader role is, through clinical and administrative oversight of Case Managers, to ensure the effective treatment planning and service delivery to clients served by SMCH.

Functions and Responsibilities

Treatment Team

Review all clients at indicated intervals, according to contracting and licensing policies.
Ensure Family Centered Plans based on the CANS and Re-Ed philosophy are written and implemented in accordance with best practice standards.

Case Managers

Provide weekly supervision/treatment review to case managers.
Ensure case managers have completed all required services and documents for their assigned caseload.
Provide written documentation of training or supervisory conferences.
Cover case management duties due to any absences.
Be part of crisis management in the milieu when needed.

Assessment, Service Planning, and Therapeutic Support

Carry a small caseload, as needed, and as other duties allow.
Provide individual/family psycho-education and/or therapeutic support that may be beyond the scope of the case manager’s ability.
Ensure all clients receive needed services from SMCH or outside agencies.
Provide assessments and evaluations as needed.

Qualifications

Must possess a master’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university in social work or a related behavioral field (if the degree is in criminal justice, there must be a juvenile justice component).*
Must have a minimum of three years’ experience as a case worker in child welfare.
Must possess organizational aptitude, people leadership potential, communication skills, and the ability to work as a team member.
Must be able to pass a drug test and extensive background checks.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.*
Must be physically capable of performing all job duties, including but not limited to sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 20 lbs.

Reporting Chain

The Team Leader reports to the Residential Director.

Work Schedule

The work schedule is dictated by the needs of the clients and staff, with typical hours being Monday through Friday, some weekend and evening hours will be required as necessary. Must carry a cell phone and be available to respond to emergency/crisis calls Monday through Friday. The Team Leader also participates in the rotational on-call schedule to cover emergency/crisis calls on weekends.
