Teacher Assistant Supervisor – KVC Academy Columbia
Schedule: Monday-Friday, school hours
Job Summary
The Teacher Assistant Supervisor will play a pivotal role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of students with special needs. This position involves supervising and mentoring a team of teacher assistants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support and instruction, and collaborating closely with special education teachers and school administrators.
Responsibility
Supervise, train, and evaluate a team of teacher assistants working in special education classrooms.
Develop and implement training programs and professional development opportunities for teacher assistants.
Coordinate and schedule teacher assistant assignments to ensure adequate classroom support.
Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management plans.
Provide direct support and assistance to students with special needs as needed.
Collaborate with special education teachers to plan and deliver effective instructional strategies and interventions.
Monitor and document the progress and performance of teacher assistants and students.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in social services related field
Served in the class room or in a residential care setting
