Role Overview
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a city-wide collaboration with the SFDPH Behavioral Health Services Division’s TAY SOC, aimed at empowering Transitional Age Youth (TAY, ages 16-24+). The Coordinator will manage the newly launched TAY Advisory Board, supporting leadership development, community collaboration, and innovative project implementation to positively impact TAY communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct outreach and recruitment within the TAY SOC Network and partner organizations to engage TAY with lived behavioral health experience into the advisory board. Manage application, interview, and onboarding processes.
Develop and maintain the advisory board structure to foster skill development, gather input on behavioral health services, share findings for quality improvement, and identify system development projects (e.g., data collection, site visits, policy advocacy, stigma reduction, presentations).
Collaborate with TAY SOC leadership to plan the annual program, set goals, metrics, and ensure deliverables are achieved.
Coordinate and facilitate advisory board meetings, including agenda development, training, communication, logistics, minute-taking, and follow-up.
Support TAY and TAYAB members, empowering them in their roles and promoting diversity and inclusion within the membership.
Maintain effective communication and working relationships with DPH staff, TAY participants, and partner agencies.

Duties
Participate in leadership meetings and community events to support TAY initiatives.
Represent DPH at stakeholder meetings and community tables.
Engage in supervision, trainings, and internal communications efforts.
Assist in data collection and system needs assessments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Knowledge and Skills
1-2 years of experience in program coordination, especially youth leadership programs, preferably for at-risk TAY.
Lived or professional experience working with diverse communities including Black/African American, Native American, LGBTQ+, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, recent immigrants, and individuals with varied socioeconomic, physical, mental health, or substance use needs.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic environment, both in-person and remotely.
Passion for behavioral health advocacy, racial equity, and TAY empowerment.
Proficiency with Office 365 / Microsoft Suite; experience in nonprofit or government settings is a plus.
