Salary: $50,000 / year

The Systems Administrator position primarily responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and improving Vinfen’s computer network and server infrastructure, both on-premises and in our cloud environment. The position requires network support experience, server hardware and software experience, a deep commitment to customer satisfaction, and desire to participate in continual systems performance improvement. Work will include software and hardware installations and updates as well as a variety of network troubleshooting tasks.

The IT Department supports users at over 200 sites. Vinfen’s end users primarily utilize Microsoft Office365 and Windows computers. The Network Services team is responsible for all servers, circuits, and connectivity that support this environment along with the networking infrastructure in all major offices and remote locations.

Responsibilities include:

Monitor, maintain, and support Active Directory and related systems, including Entra ID, Entra Connect, MFA, SSPR, and our Active Directory maintenance scripts. Identify areas for improvement and create or update scripts as needed to improve or add functionality. Monitor AD/Entra-related security and risky user activity, and take action accordingly.
Manage, maintain and support Vinfen’s Microsoft 365 environment. Proactively monitor the environment for updates and changes, as well as licensing and usage. Update processes and documentation as needed. Evaluate new features and technologies as they become available. Tune the environment as needed to meet Vinfen’s changing needs.
Manage and maintain backup systems for all on-premise and cloud workloads.
Maintain and support our network and server infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud. This includes the networks for all Vinfen locations with the exception of GLE programs. Maintain inventory of hardware for use at these locations, and find new solutions when appropriate. Coordinate network wiring, and install/configure network equipment for new locations and upgrades. This should include making small repairs to network cabling when necessary.
Manage systems and processes related to end point computers (PC’s, laptops, tablets, and smartphones). Responsibilities include imaging systems and base images, group policy design and implementation, asset management and tracking software, and mobile device management toolset. Maintain endpoint
management solutions, ensuring endpoints are patched, policies are applied, and work to find new solutions as needed. Support management of all endpoints including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
Manage, maintain, and support all of Vinfen’s cyber defense tools, monitor and respond to any potential threats or compromised systems or accounts. Ensure tools are up to date and fully functional.
Research and evaluate new technologies and solutions as needed. Work with stakeholders both in IT and other departments for gathering requirements, evaluation of potential solutions, and engage with Vinfen’s outside vendors when applicable.
Research cyber security best practices and communicate findings to IT Management. Drive new security initiatives from inception through proof of concept through adoption as directed by IT and Vinfen management.
Develop and distribute training materials on systems and security for Vinfen staff
Maintain, monitor, and support Vinfen’s email systems. Ensure proper mailflow, security, and functionality.
Maintain team wiki for internal documentation. Support the wiki for other internal teams. Document any processes and systems appropriately in the support team’s wiki, conduct trainings as needed, answer questions, and handle escalated helpdesk tickets.

Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field is preferred.
Minimum two years experience in corporate systems administration and/or support; minimum four years experience in information technology. In some cases, experience may be substituted for academic training.
Possess Proficient systems skills with Windows Server, Hyper-V Virtualization, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 / Office 365, Microsoft Exchange Online
Possess Proficient hardware skills with HPE Servers Enterprise firewalls and switches
Experience with and understanding of corporate networking including DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalling, and wireless access
Experience with network monitoring tools
Experience maintaining and deploying Active Directory
Understanding of data flows relating to software as a service and cloud storage
Experience managing relationships with IT vendors
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
Attention to detail and ability to take ownership of tasks and processes and see them through to completion
Experience working effectively in a team environment
Must be able to successfully pass a CORI, employment verification and reference check.
