Support Service Coordinator – La Pine Jobs in La Pine, OR at Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon
The Role
Responsible for managing and implementing support services and programs to Club members and their families. Additional responsibilities will include community and resource development to strengthen the relationship between Club, community organizations and local school districts, Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting in staff professional development and support in regard to prevention, intervention, Club member support, and trauma-informed care.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities)
Direct Youth Support
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with Club members and their families.
- Identify and encourage small group participation for Club members who may benefit from additional support.
- Facilitate and coordinate seasonal social-emotional programming in coordination with the Program team and consistent with organizational goals and mission.
- Ensure small group programs are relevant, effective, and responsive to Club member and community needs by continually inviting feedback and perspective from Club members, staff, community partners, and families.
- Use a case management approach to offer support services to identified Club members and their families.
- Manage and coordinate the mentoring program operations at the designated Club-site in coordination with the Director of Club Support Services, Program team, and volunteers.
- Be available as needed for Club member support and intervention.
- Demonstrate a trauma-informed approach to assure safety and support of Club members and the larger Club environment.
- Maintain necessary records for Club member files and organizational documentation procedures.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures published by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon.
Community Partnership
- Support and facilitate the development of partnerships with families, community leaders, and organizations.
- Attend relevant community events to support community connection to Club services and programming.
- Coordinate with community organizations and partners to develop support services and programs that address the needs of Club members and their families.
Resource Provision
- Facilitate the provision of resources consistent with established support services (meal bags, clothing, holiday programming) and developed offerings.
- Maintain site-specific record keeping and reporting for Family Plus programs and support services.
Additional Responsibilities:
- May attend special programs and/or events and/or participate in the implementation of other Club activities as necessary.
- May be required to drive the Club van periodically.
- May consult with families concerning Club member and Club concerns, in collaboration with the Program team and/or Director of Club Support Services.
Evaluation
Position holder will establish, with the concurrence of the Director of Club Support Services, specific semi-annual performance objectives and expected outcomes in accordance with the above Key Roles and responsibilities. These objectives are dynamic and will be revised from time to time to the mutual agreement of the position holder and the Director of Club Support Services.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Bachelors degree preferred in social work, human development and family sciences, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability in working with young people, families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Strong knowledge on navigating systems and advocy through a strengths-based, equitable lens.
- Group facilitation skills, including a strong understanding of group dynamics and group development.
- Demonstrated organizational, staff, and project management ability.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a drug test and Central Background Registry background check.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel between locations and events as needed.
