El Sol Neighborhood Educational Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Supervisor II to join our team. Under the direct supervision of management, the Supervisor II will play a critical role in the planning, implementation, and oversight of community health programs. The Supervisor II will supervise, coordinate, and support a team of 8 or more Community Health Workers (CHWs) and oversee up to 3 or more programs. This position is ideal for someone who is committed to serving their community, understands cultural diversity, and is attuned to the unique health and social needs of the populations served. The Supervisor II will be a key contributor in ensuring that community health initiatives are effectively delivered, and that CHWs receive the support and guidance necessary to excel in their roles.
Minimum requirements:
- 1-2+ years of related/equivalent experience in a supervisory role w/BA Degree; training/certifications are a plus but not required or 3+ years of related/equivalent experience in a specialist/supervisory role w/some college 30-60+ units.
- Bilingual (Spanish/ English; speak and write) preferred.
- Receive clearance from an FBI background check (Custodian of Records for DOJ).
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in community health, social services, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising diverse teams.
- Deep understanding of community health issues, cultural diversity, and the specific needs of the populations served.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and program management tools.
- Willing to commute within the surrounding work area.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document management.
- Ability to perform tasks related to physical activity to include sitting, standing, for long periods of time, caring, bending, moving, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee up to 3 or more programs, ensuring that each program is delivered efficiently, meets established goals, and stays within budget.
- Under the direction of management, assist in planning and implementing community health programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community needs.
- Support the development and execution of program strategies, monitoring milestones, and ensuring timelines are adhered to.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including community organizations, public health agencies, and service providers, to ensure comprehensive and responsive programming.
- Supervise, coordinate, and provide leadership to a team of 8 or more Community Health Workers (CHWs), ensuring optimal team performance and professional growth.
- Facilitate regular team meetings, providing updates on program goals, challenges, and community health trends.
- Manage team schedules, including assignments, fieldwork, and program-related activities.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to CHWs, helping them navigate challenges and develop skills in community outreach, health education, and case management.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support career development through training and growth opportunities.
- Support CHWs in managing their caseloads and ensure that they have the resources and tools they need to succeed in their roles.
- Track and analyze program data, assessing the effectiveness and outcomes of health initiatives, and making recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, local regulations, and any funding requirements related to the programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local organizations, community leaders, and stakeholders to better understand and address the needs of the community.
- Serve as a representative of El Sol Neighborhood Educational Center at local events, health fairs, and community meetings.
- Monitor the use of program resources, ensuring they are utilized effectively and efficiently.
- Assist in the preparation of program budgets, reports, and documentation for grants, funding, and other compliance purposes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
