Join the Varley-McKay Art Foundation as a Summer Volunteer Supervisor. Engage and mentor youth volunteers while facilitating enriching art programs in Markham.
As a Volunteer Supervisor, you will be a vital leader for around 60-80 volunteers through summer workshops and gallery events. This role involves planning recruitment efforts, creating training modules, and fostering a supportive environment. You’ll also gather volunteer feedback to enhance participation and connection with the gallery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate volunteer recruitment to reflect community diversity
• Implement structured training sessions and role alignments
• Supervise daily volunteer activities and interactions
• Organize recognition programs to appreciate volunteer contributions
• Analyze participation metrics for strategic improvements
Requirements:
• Background in visual arts or event management
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities
• Comfortable with public interaction and digital tools
• First Aid certification and Police Vulnerable Sector Check required
• Eligible candidates must be 15 to 30 years old
