Conditions: This position is made available through grant funding and as such, the successful candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Candidate must be between 21-30 years old
- Participants must be post-secondary graduates.
- Candidate must have Canadian citizenship, Canadian permanent residency status, or Canadian refugee status.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Digital Strategy, the Data Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of the organization’s digital and data strategy, including the assessment, analysis, and visualization of school certification data; data research projects; and the maintenance of existing IT systems and databases. The ideal candidate is a data-driven and design-oriented systems thinker who displays exceptional creative and critical thinking skills and a passion for innovation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analyze data related to programming and operations
- Support research, data collection, and analysis of organizational impact
- Synthesize data into insightful reports using data visualization and reporting tools (e.g. Tableau)
- Support the development of board reports
- Support the assessment of school certification applications
- Support the development of the certification program, including the development of key performance indicators and assessment criteria for schools
- Support the development of interactive dashboards and database structures in the new digital platform
- Prepare research reports and recommendations
- Program evaluation activities and supporting external research into the effectiveness of the EcoSchools program
- Supporting the development of research and data sharing policies and standard operating procedures
- Support with responding to data and technical support requests
- Support with the creation and maintenance of training documents, materials, and videos for the platform
- Research component comparing our objectives and outcomes by school/region.
- Supporting partnerships and gap analysis across Canada.
- Maintain data integrity, conducting routine data cleaning tasks and updates.
- Work closely with the Board and District Program Manager and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience developing learning and communication materials (i.e., guides, factsheets, newsletters, worksheets, workshops, webinars, etc.)
- Outstanding organizational, research, evaluation, and report writing skills
- Proficiency with Google App Suite (i.e., Email, Drive, Sheets, Slides, etc.) and other online tools and software (i.e., Zoom, Slack, MailChimp, SurveyMonkey).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet tight deadlines
- Resourcefulness, initiative, positivity, and flexibility
Assets
- Experience or familiarity with the EcoSchools program
- Knowledge of the Canadian K-12 education system
- Experience working within the nonprofit sector
- Fluency in French considered an asset (oral and/or written)
- Experience or training in the area of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) and/or experience working with Indigenous communities
