  • Lakeview High School: Monday-Thursday from 8:30-4:30pm- Closed

Compensation

  • Homewood-Flossmoor High school: $18/hr – Filled
  • Whitney Young High school: $17/hr
  • Westmont High School: $16/hr- Closed
  • Lakeview High School: $21/hr- Closed

Reports To: Site Director

Position Overview

The General Support Intern plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive camp experience for campers, families, and staff. This position provides administrative, operational, and camper-support assistance throughout the camp day and serves as a reliable point of support across multiple site functions.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, friendly, and comfortable working in a fast-paced youth program environment. This role is well-suited for individuals interested in youth programming, operations, education, or nonprofit administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Track Junior Associate is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day implementation of the track program and curriculum.
  • Associates should be passionate about their sport and love working with young athletes ranging from grades 1st through 8th.
  • The Track Junior Associates will work alongside the Head Track Coach.

Front Office & Communication Support

  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct questions or concerns to the appropriate site leadership.
  • Print and organize camper schedules and daily program materials for staff use.
  • Serve as a professional and welcoming greeter for parents, campers, and visitors.

Camper & Program Support

  • Assist with camper transitions between activities to ensure schedules run smoothly.
  • Escort campers to and from the restroom as needed, following site safety protocols.
  • Support hydration needs by delivering and collecting water at designated locations across the camp site.
  • Provide on-site assistance to staff during daily programming and transitions.

Events & Special Programming

  • Serve as a member of the Field Day and Competition Day planning committees.
  • Assist with event logistics, coordination, and on-site execution during special programming days.

Operations, Technology & Safety Support

  • Ensure all tech equipment (tablets, laptops, chargers, etc.) is returned to designated storage areas at the end of each day.
  • Monitor and support guest sign-in and sign-out procedures in coordination with the Site Director.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and orderly site environment throughout the day.

Qualifications

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions in a structured environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable working with children and staff in an active setting
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Ability to move throughout the camp site and assist with light physical tasks
  • High school graduate or current undergraduate student

Prior experience in youth programs, customer service, or administrative support is a plus but not required.
