Catasauqua, PA| Part Time, Seasonal, Hourly | $13.50 – $18.50 per hour

What is needed for this job as our Summer Camp Lifeguard:
16+ years of age
Lifeguard Certification
CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen, ARC Lifeguard or equivalent (training provided)
Ability to maintain a level of physical and mental readiness consistently over the entire guard shift
Diligence in responding to safety and emergency situations
Able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Y staff, members, and vendors
Bi-lingual (Spanish) helpful
The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Summer Camp Lifeguard:
Maintains active surveillance of the pool area
Knows/reviews all safety and emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures
Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants, and other staff
Maintains accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state Health Department code
Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed reporting any concerns to the Aquatics Director
Performs chemical testing when not guarding, as required, and takes appropriate action
