Spend Your Summer Helping Children And Youth in Mercer County, PA

Spend the summer feeding and mentoring children living in six communities of the Mercer County Housing Authority. Members and Staff provide STEM, Meals, and outdoor fun for children ages 5-12 living Sharpsville Gardens, Pine Hollow, Frank Fay Terrace, Valley View, Centennial Place, and Quinby, Join the team to made a difference in the lives of children during the summer months keeping them engaged in safe and fun activities. Keystone SMILES is a nonprofit located in Knox which provides summer AmeriCorps (work) opportunities for schools and nonprofits helping to address unmet needs with academic support for a fun summer.

AmeriCorps is a national service movement that engages thousands of men and women of all ages and backgrounds in service often referred to as the domestic Peace Corps, aimed at meeting the needs in the areas of Education, Public Safety, Environment, and Human Services.

Schedule: Monday – Friday – Full Time, Daytime Hours (occasional evening / weekend hours)

Education Award – $1,956.35
Total Living Allowance – $5,796.00

2. June 3rd – Last Day: August 8th –

Education Award – $1,565.08
Total Living Allowance – $4,012.60

3. June 10th- Last Day: August 15th –

Education Award – $1,565.08

Total Living Allowance – $4,012.60

Accepted applicants will participate in a two-day pre-service orientation their first and second day of service via virtual training.
