At Wee Care Child Care Center, we’ve been nurturing and educating children since 1981. We are a faith-based, non-profit child care center committed to providing a safe, healthy, loving, and high-quality learning environment for every child in our care.
We’re looking for a dependable, teachable, and passionate Substitute / Floater Teacher who is ready to learn, grow, and be part of a team.
This position is perfect for someone who enjoys variety! You may substitute in different classrooms, assist teachers throughout the day, help with daily routines, support administration, or step in wherever you are needed. We’re looking for someone who can buy into our vision, work as part of a team, and understands that in child care, everyone helps!
Position Highlights
- Substitute in various classrooms as needed
- Float between classrooms and provide additional support to teachers
- Assist with supervision, classroom routines, transitions, meals, and snacks
- Help maintain safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classrooms
- Support children during indoor and outdoor activities
- Assist teachers with classroom preparation and daily tasks
- Help administration with center needs when necessary
- Learn center policies, licensing requirements, and proper child care practices
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Be flexible and willing to step in wherever help is needed
We’re Looking for Someone Who:

- Works well with others and understands the importance of teamwork
- Can adapt to different classrooms, age groups, teachers, and routines
- Is professional and communicates well
- Supports our faith-based mission and commitment to providing a safe, healthy learning environment
- Wants to learn more about early childhood education and grow professionally
- Understands that no task is “too small” when it comes to supporting our children and our team
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass all required background screenings
- Previous child care or classroom experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person
- Must have or be willing to complete the required 40-hour Florida Child Care Training within 90 days of employment
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
- Must be willing to work with various age groups as needed
- Must be dependable and able to work scheduled hours consistently
