Position Summary
The Arkansas Chinese Heritage Project (ACHP) seeks applications for a paid 5‑week public communication internship, lasting from May 15 – June 19. ACHP is a joint effort by UCA’s Center for Asian Languages and Culture and the Chinese Association of Arkansas, to collect, preserve, and showcase the rich histories of Chinese communities in Arkansas. The ACHP public communication intern will work to develop digital and print materials documenting the work of the project and develop a public communication strategy for sharing the project with the public.
The internship requires a 20 hour per week commitment, but specific hours may be flexible depending on the intern’s schedule. Pay is $15/hr. Preference given to students with public communication, design, and history experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Formatting and publishing programs and conference proceedings for the 1882 Foundation Conference on Rural China towns, the Arkansas Delta Chinese Exhibit at the Plantation Agriculture Museum, and the ACHP Schichtl Hall gallery at UCA.
- Developing an Instagram page for the Arkansas Chinese Heritage Project.
- Creating and developing a contact database and bi‑annual newsletter about the project.
- Meeting regularly with the ACHP director to discuss progress toward the above duties.
