The Warren County Chamber of Business & Industry (WCCBI) serves as the leading organization for economic, community, and business development in Warren County. As a membership-driven organization, it generates most of its revenue from member businesses and the operation of the Warren County Industrial Complex, a business incubator facility. WCCBI has two key divisions: Economic Development, which focuses on supporting and attracting businesses, and Chamber Operations, which provides services, networking opportunities, and events to promote the community and its businesses. The organization's priorities include workforce development, improving workforce skills, and fostering business retention and recruitment to support the economic growth of Warren County.

Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in strengthening the financial operations of the Warren County Chamber of Business & Industry (WCCBI). This position goes beyond basic data entry and bookkeeping to support accurate financial reporting, internal controls, and financial insight that informs leadership and board decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks, including general ledger entries

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

• Support month-end and year-end close processes

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and internal reports

• Identify trends, variances, or anomalies in financial data and flag concerns proactively

• Support preparation of reports for leadership and the Board of Directors

• Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis

Qualifications & Experience:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 2–5 years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience a plus, but not required)

• Working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software

• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations

• Comfortable analyzing financial data and asking questions

• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

• Strong communication skills, especially when explaining financial information to non-accountants
