Position Summary:

The Epilepsy Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented and strategicSenior Manager of Contracts and Procurement with extensive experience in government grant compliance, contract negotiation, and regulatory reporting within the nonprofit sector.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations—including FFATA, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), and state charitable registration statutes. The ideal candidate is a strong collaborator, well-versed in managing complex contracts, navigating regulatory landscapes, and ensuring the integrity of procurement operations in support of the organization’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the end-to-end contracts and procurement function with a focus on regulatory compliance, especially for federally and state-funded grants

Ensure compliance with federal grant regulations including FFATA reporting, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), and related requirements

Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements including contracts, MOUs, subrecipient agreements, and vendor relationships

Oversee compliance with state charitable solicitation registration and renewals across all operational jurisdictions

Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures aligned with nonprofit and government best practices

Monitor and report on procurement activities to ensure compliance with funder-specific guidelines and reporting obligations

Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert on procurement and contractual obligations related to grant funding

Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Programs, and Development to ensure alignment with organizational goals and grant deliverables

Manage vendor and subcontractor due diligence, performance tracking, and contractual requirements

Play an integral role in audits, including the annual Uniform Guidance audit

Provide training, support, and guidance to internal teams on procurement ethics and federal/state compliance

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Administration, Business, or a related field (JD or Master’s preferred)

8–10 years of experience in contract and procurement management, with at least 5 years supporting federal and state grant compliance within a nonprofit or government-funded environment

In-depth knowledge of FFATA, 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance), and state-level charitable solicitation laws

Demonstrated experience managing subawards, cooperative agreements, and complex vendor relationships

Strong skills in contract drafting, risk mitigation, and negotiation

Familiarity with procurement regulations, cost principles, and audit preparation for nonprofit entities

Proficiency with contract and grant management platforms (e.g., Salesforce and Sage Intacct)
