Spring and Summer Rosewood Nature Center Host Jobs in Nevada at AmeriCorps
The AmeriCorps Rosewood Nature Study Area Visitor Center Host will be an essential member of the team for this young non-profit organization. This person will meet, welcome, and educate visitors to the Rosewood Nature Study Area. This AmeriCorps member will assist in communicating the importance of a healthy habitat and stewardship through the development and implementation of environmental education exhibits and events, interacting with nature center visitors, and leading interpretive tours of the property.
Member Duties : Create memorable experiences for visitors to the Nature Study Area by providing friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive Visitor Center interpretation; Inform visitors about the Nature Study Area, TMPF programs, events, membership, and volunteer opportunities; Answer questions, provide park and trail information, and interpret the natural and cultural history of the Visitor Center and Nature Study Area; Develop relationships with Nature Study Area visitors Care and upkeep of the Visitor Center space, exhibits, and garden/planters; Education animal care and habitat maintenance; Track visitor information, report visitor observations and feedback; Lead interpretive tours throughout the wetland; Develop adult education opportunities at the Nature Study Area; Assist with Nature Study Area education programs for school groups, homeschool groups, field trips, etc; Daily park opening/closing procedures.
