Position: Social Worker (Flourishing Minds)

As a Social Worker, you will contribute to the Community Engagement and Awareness & Advocacy Pillars by designing and implementing outreach programs that promote mental health awareness and reduce stigma. Working under the guidance of the Senior Practitioner, you will engage youth, families and stakeholders to co-create initiatives that encourage inclusivity and early help-seeking. This role emphasises fostering partnerships, driving advocacy campaigns and evaluating programmes to ensure alignment with the organisation’s vision of safe and inclusive communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement

and Programme Development

Design, plan and facilitate individual, group-based and community preventive programs tailored to the interests and needs of youth and families, with a focus on supporting at-risk individuals and fostering resilience.

Build and sustain partnerships with schools, community organisations and agencies to extend the reach and impact of mental health initiatives.

Collaborate with underserved communities through targeted outreach initiatives to address gaps in mental health care and build accessible, inclusive services.

Monitor youth well-being, escalating concerns to the Senior Allied Health Professional or Allied Health Professional as necessary.

Advocacy

and Awareness

Drive mental health advocacy campaigns that encourage early help-seeking and challenge stigma, aligning with strategic objectives.

Facilitate conversations and workshops with stakeholders to normalise mental health conversations and promote inclusivity.

Co-create awareness programmes with youth and families, ensuring their lived experiences shape outreach efforts.

Monitoring and Reporting

Collect data and evaluate the impact of outreach and advocacy programmes using data-driven insights to ensure continuous improvement.

Document engagement efforts and prepare reports to support internal and stakeholder communication.

Professional Development

Attend training and supervision sessions as part of ongoing professional development.

Contribute to team discussions to ensure alignment with youth and family needs and organisational objectives.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work

Minimum 2 years of work experience in working with youth and families, community engagement, advocacy or mental health-related roles.

Strong programme development and facilitation skills to engage diverse communities effectively.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships and partnerships.

Ability to advocate and collaborate with stakeholders to address systemic barriers.

Passionate about mental health advocacy and committed to creating inclusive communities.

Empathetic, adaptable and resilient in addressing diverse community needs.

Systemic thinker committed to fostering resilience and inclusivity through systemic change.

Working location for this role will be in North-East region.
