Title: Social Service Improvement Specialist – Volunteer Position – Onsite in Georgia – 10 months

Company: Peace Corps

Location: United States

ELIGIBILITY: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Project description

Various organizations across Georgia have requested the support of Peace Corps Response Volunteers (PCRVs) to serve as Social Service Improvement Specialists. In Georgia, social welfare and social services face significant gaps in accessibility and quality of programs. Addressing these gaps requires a multi-faceted approach, involving increased funding, community education to combat stigma, and the development of more accessible and inclusive social welfare programs and services. Civil society organizations and non-government organizations (CSO/NGOs) play a significant role in providing direct services to beneficiaries, working with the government to influence policy and funding, and partnering with international organizations to adopt and institutionalize best practices in social welfare program management and quality assurance.

The PCRVs will support CSO/NGOs in a number of management areas such as talent development, including recruitment strategies and training programs, and stakeholder engagement through advocacy and cooperative funding models. PCRVs will also be positioned to observe the service program planning and implementation, offer feedback and recommendations for quality assurance and service improvement, as well as help Independent Living Centers (ILCs) in building the sustainability plans for the social service programs.

Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Georgia together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.
