Skilled Laborer/Collector – Highway/Sanitation Division
SKILLED LABORER / COLLECTOR – HIGHWAY/SANITATION DIVISION
The Town of Natick’s – Public Works Department is accepting applications/resumes for the above position. The candidate we seek will be responsible for curbside collection of trash and recycling but will sometimes be responsible for the operation of multiple pieces of light and heavy equipment, manual physical labor in roadway maintenance operations, and winter sidewalk snow and ice clearing. This position will work under the supervision of Foreman and General Foreman. This is a great opportunity to learn to drive CDL vehicles and other medium/heavy equipment. This is an entry-level position with growth potential.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License; CDL preferred or ability to obtain within [6 months] upon hire.
- Three (3) years of experience in construction, landscaping, building maintenance, or related field.
- Sign Making/Line Striping Experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds, work in all weather conditions, and perform physically demanding labor.
- Familiarity with the operation of light and heavy-duty equipment.
- Strong work ethics and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with both coworkers and the general public.
- Successfully completing a Cori check and DOT pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hoisting license or other relevant certifications.
- Experience with municipal or public works operations.

Compensation
$ 24.5240 hour at Step 1. The full pay scale ranges from $24.5240 – $33.2152 per hour, with step increases outlined in the union agreement. This full-time position includes a lucrative benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, a defined contribution retirement plan, and more.
