Position Summary

The role of the Simulation Lab Coordinator reports to the Director of Workforce Development (DH). This position, in direct partnership with DH, is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the operations of a simulation lab, ensuring the smooth execution of simulations for educational and training purposes, and maintaining simulation labs, classrooms, storage, equipment, and resources.

Essential Position Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the simulation lab, including scheduling, equipment maintenance, and inventory management.
Ensure the simulation labs, classrooms, and equipment are clean, organized, and safe for use.
Maintain and coordinate the repair of simulation equipment troubleshooting for effective and efficient resolutions.
Develop and implement simulation lab policies and procedures.
Manage the budget for simulation lab supplies and equipment, in partnership with Director.
Collaborate with administration, faculty, staff, and students to design, plan, and implement simulation activities.
Develop and refine simulation scenarios, utilizing role-playing, props, and dialogue to create realistic learning environments.
Provide technical support for all simulation operations, including simulation equipment, programming simulators and patient care equipment.
Stage and clean up simulation equipment, including mannequins and other props, after simulations and classes.
Provide training to educators and staff on the use of simulation equipment and techniques, as needed.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the System surrounding healthcare simulation education training.
Assist instructors with the implementation of virtual clinical medical scenarios.
Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of simulation activities.
Provide feedback to faculty and staff on simulation performance and outcomes.
Maintain accurate records of simulation activities and equipment usage.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Partner and work closely with System Education team on simulation needs and other System education initiatives.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in related field, required.
Licensure and Certifications: Preferred certification from Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH)
Experience: Experience in healthcare simulation, lab management, or a related field

Proficiency in using simulation equipment and software.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment: This position will spend a majority of time working in a standard classroom and office environment where 60% of time is sitting or standing, performing office/clerical work and 40% of time walking. This position may lift up to 50 lbs.
