Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Shelter (Sanctuary) Program Manager, based in Washington, DC, with opportunities for some remote work. The Program Manager will coordinate and oversee day-to-day shelter operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents. Responsibilities include supervising staff, implementing program policies, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with organizational and legal standards. The role also involves providing support to survivors, overseeing case management services, and fostering a trauma-informed environment. Collaboration with external partners, facilitating training, and contributing to the development of program policies are also key aspects of the position.
Qualifications
- Leadership and management skills, including staff supervision and resource coordination
- Experience in program implementation, policy development, and operational oversight
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, domestic violence issues, and supportive housing
- Proficiency in case management, client support, and fostering empowerment
- Excellent communication, training, and facilitation skills
- Ability to collaborate with external organizations and engage with diverse communities
- A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (master's degree or equivalent experience preferred)
- Experience in nonprofit organizations, advocacy, or public health is a plus
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
