Job Title: Service Manager, Lifelong Learning (San Francisco)

The Arc San Francisco is a non-profit organization serving adults with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental disabilities in San Francisco and San Mateo counties. We support over 600 participants, helping them achieve self-determination, dignity, and quality of life. Our services include independent living support, skills building, employment training, and creative expression. We also engage in educational outreach, business partnerships, and community advocacy to promote a diverse and inclusive society.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This is a rewarding job working with people with developmental disabilities. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact while enjoying the fulfillment of working with a diverse, inclusive community of participants and co-workers.

  • Supervise, train, and manage Direct Service Professionals (DSPs): Lead a dedicated team and help them grow.
  • Ensure participants have robust schedules and are accessing community-based resources: Promote active engagement and community involvement.
  • Support staff in developing goals using Person-Centered Thinking tools: Help participants achieve their aspirations.
  • Track participant goals and complete weekly notes: Monitor progress and celebrate achievements.
  • Facilitate annual Individual Support Plans and Interdisciplinary Team meetings: Engage with participants and their support networks.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and authorize payroll: Recognize and reward hard work.
  • Plan individual supervision meetings: Provide personalized support and guidance.
  • Provide technology training and support: Be a tech ambassador for your team.
  • Ensure accurate daily attendance, maintain caseload lists, and update electronic files: Support daily operations and keep data current.
  • Coordinate staff coverage for absences: ensure participants receive the necessary support.
  • Manage daily operations with fellow Service Managers: Collaborate for success.
  • Implement and track behavior plans: Ensure effective support strategies.
  • Co-lead monthly staff meetings: Foster teamwork and communication.
  • Maintain relationships with Circles of Support and be a contact for stakeholders: Build strong community connections.
  • Participate in community relations and mandatory meetings: Advocate for inclusivity.
  • Assist with other responsibilities as assigned: Be flexible and ready to help.

Key Skills

  • Leadership and Management: Ability to supervise, train, and manage a team of DSPs effectively.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, participants, families, and stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Efficiently manage caseloads, schedules, and documentation.
  • Technology Proficiency: Comfort with using and teaching technology tools.
  • Team Collaboration: Work well with fellow Service Managers and other team members.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to changing needs and responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Direct Service Professional or similar role.
  • Experience with aging individuals and/or those with behavioral challenges is a plus.
  • Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Preferred experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Preferred experience in professional settings.

Pay: $30.00 – $33.00 per hour
