Skills & Experience required:
Knowledge of project development, implementation, and evaluation methodologies.
Understanding of grant-making processes and the voluntary sector landscape.
Experience in grant-making or contract management within a not-for-profit environment.
Experience in project coordination at a strategic level, including project management, monitoring, and evaluation.
Experience of engaging target audiences through various media, including online platforms, social media, and press articles/releases.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
What’s involved with this role: You will be responsible for developing and coordinating voluntary sector grant programs, overseeing the assessment process, and ensuring clear, consistent recommendations for Council committees. You will manage the full grant cycle, from approvals to payments and impact evaluation, and provide support for service development, commissioning, and contract management. Additionally, you will act as a deputy to the Voluntary Sector Grants and Partnership Manager for Wandsworth-based projects.
Key duties:
Oversee and coordinate the receipt and assessment of applications for the Wandsworth Grant Fund, making recommendations to the Grants Overview and Scrutiny Sub-Committee.
Lead and secure input from relevant Council officers through the Wandsworth Grant Fund Development Group.
Conduct eligibility checks and provide recommendations based on alignment with grant themes, organisational capacity, deliverability, and sustainability.
Ensure timely input to application assessments to meet committee paper dispatch deadlines.
Complete assessments to a high standard, ensuring consistency and fairness across all thematic areas.
Draft grant agreements, including payment schedules, for successful applicants.
Produce Directors’ Board reports, Committee reports, and SO83(a) on projects managed by the Voluntary Sector Partnerships Team.
