A nonprofit organization in New York City is actively seeking a new Senior Substance Use Specialist to join their growing team.
About the Opportunity:
Start Date: ASAP
Assignment Length: Ongoing
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 9am to 5pm
Setting: Field
Responsibilities:
Provide client-centered care using evidence-based approaches for substance use and co-occurring disorders
Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized service plans, and monitor progress
Deliver therapeutic interventions including individual and group counseling as needed
Support staff in integrating recovery-focused and trauma-informed care into practice.
Contribute to the development and implementation of treatment models and service enhancements.
Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
Participate in internal case reviews, team meetings, and quality assurance initiatives
Support program evaluation through data collection and outcome tracking
Collaborate with leadership to ensure program operations meet all contractual and regulatory requirements
Participate in field-based service delivery and crisis intervention as needed
Coordinate care with external service providers, housing agencies, and medical/mental health professionals
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
MSW or Masters in related field
Experience working on an ACT team
