General Information:
JMU seeks a seasoned and successful fundraiser to join the Principal Giving team in University Advancement as Senior Philanthropic Advisor. The successful candidate will play a critical role in building transformative relationships and securing principal-level gifts from a growing donor pool.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of 50-75 relationships, focusing on refreshing principal donor relationships and proactively identifying new high net worth donors.
Close gifts of $1M+ with a donor-centric approach.
Manage donor relationships with high-touch engagement, cultivation, and stewardship.
Develop and refine customized strategies for prospective donors.
Provide insight on complex gift opportunities.
Communicate compelling giving opportunities that match donors’ interests.
Maintain accurate records of donor interactions in the university’s CRM.
Provide regular reports on progress, including portfolio development.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree.
Significant experience with donor/client relationships.
Experience with high-net-worth individuals and families.
Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated use of moves management and metrics.
