Job Description
Crouch Community Church (Garden Valley, ) Senior Pastor
The Senior Pastor is to lead the Church towards the fulfillment of its purpose as taught in the Scriptures and as stated in the Church Constitution. He is to preach the Word of God to the mutual edification of the Church, and he is to lead the Church in evangelism.
Specifically, he is to teach and preach God’s Word, oversee the teaching ministries of the Church along with the elders, supervise the work of the Church staff, and maintain ongoing discipleship with them. He will be available to the congregation and community for counsel, visitation, and funerals as able, and may officiate weddings at his discretion. He shall participate in the community of Crouch/Garden Valley in accordance with Church goals, as time permits.
He shall attend at least one conference each year at Church expense, with approval from the Elders Committee.
Qualifications of the Senior Pastor
The Senior Pastor shall be a man of genuine Christian experience and established character, qualifying according to 1 Timothy 3:2-7 and Titus 1:6-9. He should have pastoral experience, a zeal for ministry, and the ability to work collaboratively towards shared goals. He must demonstrate a teachable attitude to adapt to cultural differences in the area. He must fully support the Statement of Faith (Article V of Church Constitution) and the goals of the Church.
The Senior Pastor and his wife are considered members of the Church upon beginning their ministry.
Term of Office
The Senior Pastor shall serve for an indefinite term. Resignation requires a ninety (90) day notice; dismissal by the congregation also entails a ninety (90) day financial obligation from the Church.
Organization Relationships
The Senior Pastor reports to the Church Board, is an ex-officio member of all Church boards and committees, and is a voting member of the Elders Committee.

The Senior Pastor’s responsibilities include engaging with the church community, utilizing spiritual gifts, overseeing programs like Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, promoting family and community involvement, recruiting volunteers, developing youth, fostering cross-generational relationships, collaborating with the Elder Board, maintaining open communication, and performing other duties as needed.
Compensation
Salary Range: $50,000 – $75,000 (dependent on experience and occupancy of the parsonage). Benefits include professional development and expense reimbursement. Final terms will be negotiated with the Trustees.
