Syracuse Alliance Church is seeking a Lead Pastor who can lead the congregation in reaching and serving the surrounding community.
Syracuse Alliance Church is a multicultural church with a membership of 126 and an average attendance of approximately 172, located in Syracuse, NY. Our mission field includes a diverse group, including predominately white and black/African American populations, and smaller Hispanic/Latino and Asian populations. We see needy people experiencing homelessness, generational poverty, addiction, and a lack of income and resources.
The suitable candidate must have the following qualifications:
Currently be an ordained pastor, preferably with senior pastor experience.
Possess sound theological knowledge and experience leading multiple staff.
Candidates already licensed with the C&MA are preferred; but all candidates must be able to meet licensing and ordination requirements with the C&MA.
Additionally, we are seeking a pastor who:
Has a vision for reaching our multiracial, multiethnic community with the love of Christ.
Has experience with an urban church and/or has a calling to serve in an urban setting.
Has the ability to minister to the community around us.
Has a commitment to outreach to those far from God, both at home and abroad.
Responsibilities would include:
Effective preaching directed to a multicultural, multiracial/ethnic congregation, creating a pathway for people to learn about Jesus and make life-changing decisions to follow Him.
Lead the Elder Board in collaboration with the Head Elder, casting vision for the entire church.
Direction and oversight of Pastoral staff collaborating on the vision and execution of the ministries for which they are responsible.
Direction and oversight of the Office staff.
Provide pastoral care for the Elders, Pastoral staff, and volunteer lay staff where appropriate.
Provide/continue with a leadership development structure, developing both staff and lay ministry leaders who will carry out the mission and vision of the church.
