The Pastor is responsible to the church for proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, for using their skills in administrative leadership, for engaging in pastoral care ministries to meet the needs of persons in the church and in the community, and to act as the chief administrator of the ministerial and vocational staff.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Strong Biblical preaching. Maintain regular personal study and prayer.
Prepare for and conduct worship services; lead in the observance of the ordinances; lead church in proclaiming the gospel to the church and community.
Officiate at worship services, baptisms, dedications, funerals, and weddings.
Visit members and prospects and lead the membership in a visitations program including hospital and shut-in visitation.
Supervise other members of the church staff according to staff organization.
Conduct premarital, vocational, family, bereavement, counseling sessions, etc as needed. Advise other professional help when necessary.
Work with church officers and committees in performing responsibilities. Be available for and lead in training as needed.
Serve as a representative of the church in civic matters.
Serve as the leader in seeking to win the unsaved and lead the church members in evangelism training.
Serve as voting member of the Church Council in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating total church program.
Develop, oversee, and teach Christian educational programs for all ages.
Be computer literate with a working knowledge of church programs such as Church Trac, Proclaim, etc.
Maintain regular office hours, be accessible to members of the congregation when needed and be available 24 hours a day for special or emergency pastoral services.
Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience. Other duties as assigned.
St. Luke’s Church is a nondenominational Christ-centered, evangelical church located in a historic and diverse community of 25,000. Since 1907, St. Luke’s has played a strong faith-based role in the community of Faribault, Minnesota. We are seeking a Senior Pastor to provide spiritual leadership and expand discipleship with a strong vision for growth and outreach to the community.
