Our team is international and based across South America, the Pacific Islands, Asia, and North America, with a large contingent at our Seattle headquarters. We speak many languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and a wide range of Indigenous Peoples’ languages.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Institutional Giving, will play a key role in crafting compelling grant proposals, impact reports, and other donor communications that effectively convey Nia Tero’s unique value and the impact of our partnerships with Indigenous Peoples around the world. Reporting to the Managing Director, Development, and collaborating with the Associate Director, Development, this prolific writer will help manage and strengthen relationships with funders and stakeholders to ensure sustainable funding streams.

This role requires a strategic communicator and storyteller with aproven track recordin nonprofit fundraising and constructing persuasive narratives. Working closely withleadershipand other teams, the Senior Manager of Institutional Giving will contribute to increasing philanthropic support to address the threats to Indigenous Peoples’ guardianship.

The successful applicant would also benefit from deep ties to and understanding of Indigenous cultures, a passion for our mission, and outstandingcollaborationandteamworkskills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Writing and Proposal Development

Guide in developing, writing, and managing compelling and tailored grant proposals, concept notes, and letters of intent for foundations, high-net-worth individuals, and corporate donors, targeting contributions ranging from $100,000 to over $1,000,000.

Collaborate closely with colleagues, including staff from program, finance, and communications, to ensure alignment with donor interests and Nia Tero’s mission and produce high-quality, timely submissions.

Impact Reporting and Donor Stewardship

Develop and write clear, concise, and compelling impact reports, donor updates, and creative stewardship materials (such as case studies, impact stories, and visual content) that effectively communicate the results of funded projects and deepen donor engagement.

Maintain a calendar of reporting deadlines and ensure compliance with all donor requirements, including financial reporting, narrative updates, and other stewardship communications.
