TalentSource360 is seeking a Senior Accountant to join this collaborative finance team supporting the accounting and financial reporting in a growing fund manager. Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the organization’s investment fund accounting, including the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage investment accounting activities, ensuring proper classification and reporting of restricted and unrestricted funds in accordance with GAAP.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all funds, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process, providing requested documents and explanations for financial transactions.
Monitor and report on variances from budget, providing explanations for significant discrepancies and advising leadership on necessary adjustments.
Monitor adherence to internal controls and recommend improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.
Lead initiatives to improve accounting processes, including automating workflows and streamlining reporting procedures.
Manage and maintain the accounting software, ensuring that the system is set up correctly to manage multiple funds, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff, providing support and development opportunities.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and foster a strong understanding of accounting processes across the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or similar professional certification preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with at least 1 year in a fund accounting.
Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Great Plains, NetSuite, or similar systems).
Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create complex financial models and reports.
Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
