Are you an experienced Senior Financial Analyst with a background in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and a passion for supporting mission-driven organizations? We’re seeking a skilled professional to provide 3-month coverage for a medical leave in a pivotal role at our nonprofit organization. This is an opportunity to make an impact by ensuring robust financial oversight and strategic engagement during a critical time.

This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver, BC.

Job Responsibilities:

Budget Review & Forecasting:

Review organizational budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives, and submit them for executive approval.

Lead budget and forecasting efforts to support financial planning and stability.

Financial Oversight:

Oversee the smooth and timely upload of approved budgets into NetSuite to ensure operational readiness.

Measure actual financial results against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and preparing comprehensive financial commentaries.

Financial Reporting & Insights:

Present monthly financial results, key trends, performance indicators, and variances to the Senior Leadership Team, budget owners, and other stakeholders.

Provide actionable insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making and improve organizational performance.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Support:

Foster strong collaborative relationships with budget owners and internal stakeholders.

Act as a strategic partner to enable understanding and effective use of financial data in decision-making.

System & Process Improvement:

Provide oversight for process improvements and upgrades to financial systems in NetSuite.

Supervise the creation and maintenance of financial dashboards and reports, ensuring they reflect accurate and actionable data for decision support.

Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:

CPA, CFA, or equivalent designation required.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in financial analysis.

At least 2+ years of FP&A experience, preferably within the nonprofit/charity sector.

Strong budgeting and forecasting experience.

Fund accounting and property management experience considered a distinct asset.

Systems Proficiency:

Familiarity with NetSuite for financial processes, budgeting, and reporting highly beneficial.

Competencies:

Proven ability to interpret and analyze financial data to provide meaningful insights.

Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Track record of process improvement and problem-solving in financial systems.
