JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Volunteer Engagement Office provides leadership for the Volunteer Engagement Office and related programs, ensuring compliance with best practices, contract, grant requirements, and agency policies. The Director oversees fiscal, operational, administrative, personnel, development, and quality activities, participates in strategic planning, and serves on the Leadership Team to represent volunteers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Supervises 3 FTEs and approximately 25 FT/PT volunteers (Cap Corps, VISTA, Hope Corps, Interns, etc.)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage operations and administration of the Volunteer Engagement Office, including programs like the Catholic High School Service Summit, Christmas Star Program, Caritas! program, internships, and representing CC DC in professional organizations.
Develop strategies for volunteer and intern recruitment and implement systems to improve operational efficiency.
Provide leadership and supervision to staff, consultants, and volunteers; oversee recruitment, hiring, performance evaluations, training, and team development.
Manage procurement activities for VEO.
Advocate for volunteer engagement within the agency and participate in strategic planning to enhance volunteer contributions.
Collect and analyze program data, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
Build relationships with community partners, organizations, and institutions to create volunteer opportunities.
Manage the program budget, monitor expenditures, and prepare financial reports.
Ensure quality practices, implement CQI processes, update policies, and participate in professional development activities.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management or related field; advanced degree preferred.
8 years in social services, program management, including grants and contracts.
3 years supervisory experience.
SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:
Supervisory and team leadership skills.
Proficiency in computer use, preferably in a Windows environment.
