The Players Trust, the charitable arm of the Major League Baseball Players Association, was established in 1996 as a platform for MLB Players to come together and leverage their collective voice to create meaningful impact where it’s needed most. Over the years, the Trust has expanded its reach, empowering Players to support the causes they are passionate about while raising awareness and providing resources for critical initiatives on a global scale.

Driven by Players and inspired by the game, the Players Trust provides programs and resources that champion their individual and collective passions towards a common goal.

The Coordinator of Programs will play a vital role in supporting the Players Trust’s programming and initiatives, working closely with nonprofit partners, Players, and the Trust team to ensure seamless execution andimpactfuloutcomes. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, approachable, and driven, with a strong commitment to helping others and the ability to manage multiple projects in afast-paced,mission-drivenenvironment.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Programmatic Support

Assist with the planning and execution of Trust programs, including:

Double Play Matching Gift Program, MLB Players STEM League, Players Exchange, Most Valuable Philanthropist/Philanthropist of the Year, Michael Weiner Fellowship for Labor Studies, Ambassador Program, Legacy Projects, and Players’Purpose

Maintain detailed program records, timelines, and documentation to ensure efficient operation.

Serve as a point of contact for nonprofit partners, ensuring positive relationships and streamlinedcommunication.

Support the evaluation of nonprofit grant applications and the monitoring of partnership outcomes.

Organize run-of-show documents for events and manage nonprofit deliverables.

Event Support

Work in partnership with theAdvancementteam to implement programming events.

Actively contribute to Player-led initiatives, such as sending out swag, and organizing meet-and-greet opportunities.

Administrative Support

Provide day-to-day support to the Associate Director of Programming, including logistics management, document preparation, and scheduling.

Draft program updates, event summaries, and recaps for internal and external stakeholders.

Process and track grant payments.

Ensure seamless integration of technology into program management, leveraging tools like PowerPoint, Canva, Outlook, and Excel.

Player Relations

Work closely with Players on matching grants and philanthropic initiatives.

Attend and support Player-led events, fostering meaningful connections between Players and program participants.

Serve as a trusted and approachable liaison for Players during Trust activities.

Qualifications:

1-2 years of experience in program coordination, event management, or a related field, preferably with a nonprofit in the sports industry.

Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Personable and self-assured, with the ability to interact effectively with high-profile individuals, including MLB Players and executives.

Proficient in using tools such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and other standard business software.
