Soundly built on the foundation of God’s infallible Word and unprecedented technological advancements, ISM develops systems to deliver unhindered access to Bible content in a comprehensive “preach” and “teach” format so every person can know Christ in their language. ISM is pursuing unhindered access to the Bible and its life-transforming truth so every person can know Christ. Its ministry model now spans RadioBase, hybrid FM/HD broadcasting, digital Bible apps, web-based Scripture access, multilingual publishing, partner-supported outreach, and emerging technology-enabled delivery.

The organization is operating at a meaningful scale and complexity, including multi-million-dollar annual revenue, expanding radio footprint, significant digital distribution, growing publishing output, and a blended workforce of employees plus strategic partners.

POSITION AVAILABLE

SENIOR CONTENT CREATOR: Marketing & Storytelling

International Scripture Ministries is seeking a talented writer who can do two things exceptionally well: write sharp, high-converting marketing copy for email, social, and campaigns, and step into longer-form storytelling for articles, donor features, and ministry impact stories. This is not two half-jobs; it’s one writer who can move fluidly between a punchy subject line and a 1,500-word feature, always in a consistent, compelling brand voice.

The realistic mix of this role is roughly 70% short-form marketing content (email, social, campaigns, web copy) and 30% long-form storytelling (articles, donor/impact features, and select long-form editorial pieces).

As a technology-forward ministry, ISM encourages the thoughtful use of emerging tools, including AI, while maintaining high standards for originality, accuracy, theological integrity, and brand voice.

The ideal candidate is a gifted storyteller and a disciplined marketer: someone who understands what makes a donor open an email and what makes a reader finish an article. They build trust and inspire action across every platform: websites, email campaigns, social media, print materials, and long-form features, all while maintaining one consistent brand voice throughout.

REPORTS TO

Vice President of Communications

LOCATION

Hybrid (located in the DFW area) with intermittent travel required for executive meetings, ministry initiatives, partner engagement, operational reviews, conferences, and strategic planning sessions.

WORK EXPECTATIONS AND EXEMPT STATUS

This position is classified as full-time, salaried, exempt under applicable federal and state wage and hour laws. As an exempt role, performance is evaluated based on outcomes, stewardship of responsibilities, and the successful execution of objectives, rather than hours worked.

While this role generally aligns with ISM’s standard business hours, it may require occasional evening work or additional time to meet deadlines, particularly during publication launches, ministry initiatives, or time-sensitive communications. These expectations are inherent in a professional exempt position.

ISM values healthy rhythms and sustainability. Occasional extended hours are balanced with reasonable flexibility in scheduling, coordinated with the Vice President, to support long-term effectiveness and well-being.

This role requires the regular exercise of independent judgment, prioritization, discretion, and decision-making authority, particularly in managing workflows, systems, and execution strategies aligned with ministry goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing & Short-Form Content (primary focus)

  • Write persuasive, on-brand copy for email campaigns, social media, and paid/organic digital marketing.
  • Develop messaging for fundraising appeals, campaign launches, and time-sensitive donor communications.
  • Write and refine web copy, landing pages, and marketing collateral in close partnership with design.
  • A/B test and iterate on subject lines, calls to action, and campaign copy to improve engagement and response.

Long-Form & Editorial Content (secondary focus)

  • Write feature-length articles, donor and ministry impact stories, and narrative content that goes deeper than a campaign email.
  • Interview ministry staff, missionaries, and partners to source and shape compelling stories.
  • Contribute long-form pieces for publications, the website, or partner communications as assigned.

Cross-Functional

  • Collaborate with the Communications team and other departments to deliver high-quality, high-impact content on time, across both short- and long-form formats.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate ideation, drafting, and iteration, applying human review to every deliverable for accuracy, originality, theological soundness, and brand voice.
  • Ensure all content reflects exceptional grammar, accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail, per AP style or ISM’s editorial standards.
  • Maintain a single, consistent brand voice regardless of format or channel.
  • Support communication initiatives that strengthen engagement with donors, ministry partners, and the global Church.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Devoted follower of Jesus Christ, fully aligned with the mission, vision, and beliefs of International Scripture Ministries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of grammar, punctuation, and AP style or equivalent editorial standards.
  • A proven track record of writing effective marketing copy (email, social, campaigns) and a portfolio that shows range into feature articles, profiles, or narrative storytelling.
  • Ability to shift tone and format quickly: from a 40-character social hook to a 1,500-word feature without losing the through-line of brand voice.
  • Proficiency with modern content and research tools, including the effective and responsible use of AI-assisted technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience working within brand guidelines and maintaining a consistent voice across diverse communication platforms.
  • Passion for communicating the mission of a Christ-centered ministry and a commitment to supporting its values.
  • A portfolio of professional writing samples is required, and it must include both short-form marketing/campaign copy and at least one long-form article or feature-length piece (see “To Apply”).
