The firm also supports corporate partners seeking meaningful social impact collaborations with nonprofit organizations.
Role Description
DiCam Strategic Solutions is seeking a Senior Consultant, Fund Development & Nonprofit Strategy to support a portfolio of nonprofit clients on a remote, contract basis.
This role is designed for an experienced strategist who can guide organizations through fund development strategy, board engagement, donor pipeline development, and operational alignment. Consultants work closely with executive leadership and boards to develop actionable plans that strengthen fundraising performance, leadership engagement, and organizational sustainability.
This is a hands-on consulting role for someone who can think strategically, manage client relationships, and help move work from recommendation to execution. Senior Consultants serve as trusted advisors while managing project milestones, facilitating strategic conversations, and supporting implementation of revenue and leadership strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage 2–3 client engagements simultaneously, ensuring clear progress toward agreed deliverables, timelines, and outcomes.
- Provide hands-on consulting support across a range of client needs. Some engagements focus on strategy development, while others require support for both strategy and implementation, including direct fundraising activation.
- Develop fund development strategies and revenue models, including donor pipeline development, corporate partnerships, foundation strategy, and major donor engagement.
- Support clients in fundraising activation, which may include prospect research, donor outreach strategy, proposal development, cultivation planning, and moves management.
- Conduct development audits and organizational assessments to identify opportunities to strengthen fundraising systems, leadership alignment, and operational effectiveness.
- Facilitate strategic planning conversations with executive leadership and boards to align mission, strategy, and revenue growth.
- Support board fundraising engagement, including clarifying expectations, strengthening governance practices, and activating board participation in philanthropy.
- Provide ongoing strategic guidance to executive teams on donor cultivation, partnerships, and positioning within the philanthropic marketplace.
- Prepare progress updates, strategic recommendations, and client reports that demonstrate clear movement toward fundraising and organizational goals.
- Collaborate with the DiCam team on emerging opportunities, client growth, and strengthening consulting practices across the firm.
Qualifications
- Must be located in or able to consistently work Eastern Time business hours.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy, fund development strategy, consulting, or social impact leadership.
- Demonstrated success working with major donors, foundations, corporate partners, board leaders, or executive teams.
- Experience supporting strategic planning, fundraising strategy, development audits, board engagement, or organizational development.
- Strong project management and client relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, particularly with executive leaders and boards.
- Ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment while collaborating with a distributed team.
- Comfort with CRM systems, research tools, and digital collaboration platforms.
- Ability to translate strategy into clear work plans, client-ready deliverables, and measurable next steps.
- Commitment to advancing equitable outcomes and working alongside organizations serving historically under-resourced communities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting organizations with $3M–$30M operating budgets.
- Background in health, education, youth development, economic opportunity, or community-based nonprofit sectors.
- Consulting experience or experience working across multiple organizations.
- Experience managing donor pipelines, sponsorship strategies, foundation outreach, or board fundraising activation.
- Familiarity with moves management, prospect research, fundraising systems, and revenue planning.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with ambiguity, asking strong strategic questions, managing multiple client priorities, and translating ideas into practical next steps. This person should be equally comfortable in a board conversation, a donor strategy discussion, a project planning meeting, and a client check-in focused on outcomes. We are looking for someone who brings strategic thinking, sound judgment, strong writing, and the ability to help clients move from planning to action.
What We Offer
- Flexible remote contract work.
- Opportunity to support a growing national consulting firm.
- Engagement with nonprofit clients doing meaningful work across health, education, youth development, economic opportunity, and social impact.
- Estimated 10–12 hours per week per client, depending on scope and availability – average 20-25 hours per week.
- Collaboration with a strategic, mission-driven team.
- Opportunities to contribute to fund development strategy, board activation, revenue systems, and client growth.
- Health insurance options may be available, if needed.
