Position: Senior Community Developer Role at WOCRC
Impact senior communities as a Senior Community Developer with the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre. This part-time role focuses on fostering engagement and addressing the needs of seniors, particularly those affected by hearing loss.
In this 14-hour weekly position, you’ll be at the forefront of program development and community outreach. You’ll work directly with seniors to promote inclusion, identify barriers, and advocate for equitable access to resources. Collaborating with various teams and organizations, you will ensure that all senior voices are represented within the programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead engagement initiatives targeting vulnerable seniors
• Identify community health needs and develop solutions
• Plan outreach events and facilitate group discussions
• Train volunteers and staff on accessibility best practices
• Collaborate with health organizations for resource sharing
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in health or social sciences
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in community settings
• Knowledge of health equity and accessibility principles
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle access
