We’re looking for a Senior Bookkeeper who thrives in a dynamic, multi-entity environment and understands the unique needs of nonprofit finance—grant reporting, fund accounting, and compliance. If you’re experienced in QuickBooks, payroll, and preparing financial statements, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:

Accounting & Financial Management

Manage accounts payable/receivable, cash disbursements, and bank reconciliations for multiple entities.

Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements, including Balance Sheets and Income Statements.

Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

Track and report on grant-funded programs.

Oversee fixed asset management, including inventory tracking and depreciation.

Process ACH and wire payments.

Support annual financial audits by assembling necessary documentation.

Maintain corporate records and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal filing requirements.

Payroll & Benefits Administration

Process biweekly payroll using Paychex Flex.

Administer 401(k) contributions and complete annual census reporting.

Assist employees with health benefit enrollment.

Maintain current knowledge of California HR laws and regulations.

Reporting & Compliance

Prepare political campaign finance reports in accordance with filing deadlines.

Assist in generating monthly financial reports and quarterly personnel reports.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and audit requirements.

Administrative Support

Coordinate with building vendors and tenants.

Provide basic support for IT-related issues in collaboration with IT vendors.

What You’ll Bring:

Education & Experience

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including financial statement preparation.

Proficient in QuickBooks and accrual accounting.

Skills & Abilities

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Excellent verbal and written communication.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting and grant management is a plus.

Additional Requirements

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional local travel.

Ability to lift and use office equipment; frequent use of keyboard and mouse.
