In STEPPS Academy is a nonprofit, Nonpublic School serving students with autism and related learning differences in grades K–8. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to providing individualized, evidence-based education within a highly collaborative environment.

We are seeking an experienced Senior BCBA to serve as the clinical leader within our Academy program. This position is ideal for a highly skilled clinician who enjoys direct collaboration with teachers, behavior technicians, families, and school districts while also influencing clinical quality, staff development, and program growth.

Unlike traditional school BCBA roles, this position provides opportunities to shape classroom systems, mentor clinicians, implement evidence-based practices, and contribute to the continued development of the Academy’s clinical model.

Position Overview

The Senior BCBA II provides advanced behavioral assessment, treatment planning, staff mentorship, and clinical leadership across the Academy. The position combines direct clinical oversight with strategic leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality programming while promoting positive outcomes for students and staff.

The BCBA will be present in classrooms during the instructional day (8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.) providing active coaching, consultation, assessment, and clinical support. Administrative responsibilities and caregiver collaboration are completed during the remainder of the workday.

Primary ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Design classroom-wide behavioral support systems
  • Analyze student data and modify programming based on outcomes
  • Ensure treatment integrity and implementation fidelity across classrooms
  • Support students with complex behavioral, communication, and self-regulation needs

Staff Development

  • Provide ongoing supervision, coaching, and mentorship to behavior technicians
  • Model effective implementation of Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBI)
  • Deliver performance feedback through observation and coaching
  • Support professional development of Academy staff

Collaboration

  • Partner with teachers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and district personnel
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary planning
  • Provide caregiver consultation and training
  • Collaborate with In STEPPS clinical leadership to ensure consistency across programs

Program Development

  • Support clinical quality assurance initiatives
  • Assist in developing Academy procedures, treatment resources, and best practices
  • Participate in special clinical projects and organizational initiatives
  • Promote evidence-based practice throughout the Academy

Qualifications

Required

  • Active BCBA certification in good standing
  • Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field
  • Minimum five years of BCBA experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience
  • Strong assessment and behavior intervention skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred

  • Experience within school or educational settings
  • Experience with NDBI approaches including PRT, ESDM, and/or JASPER
  • Experience supporting students with significant behavioral and self-regulation challenges
  • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary educational teams
  • Familiarity with CentralReach documentation systems

Pay: $85,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
