Job: Senior Associate Director, Director of Parent and Family Giving

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, the Senior Associate Director of Parent and Family Giving oversees the day-to-day operations of the Parent and Family Giving Program and manages a portfolio of 125 major gift prospects capable of making a gift of $100,000+.

The Senior Associate Director manages the Parents Council volunteer efforts and secures council membership giving.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Independently manage the identification, cultivation and solicitation process for a portfolio of approximately 125 prospects, which includes a portfolio of prospects in one or more regions outside of New York City.

Conduct a minimum of 120 prospect meetings annually, with responsibility for managing communications and follow-up, including maintaining detailed activity reports and move management information on all prospects in the portfolio.

Work collaboratively with the Director of Major Gifts to ensure outreach to alumnae, parents and donors is coordinated and effective.

Participate in major gift meetings and prospect review meetings to discuss specific prospect strategies as they relate to prioritized fundraising needs.

Promote positive donor relations and stewardship.

Evaluate various gift opportunities and giving vehicles; recommend the most suitable for a particular donor.

Collaborate with the Director of Major Gifts in the planning and execution of cultivation and solicitation events associated with the Parent and Family Giving Program.

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

Skills,

Qualifications & Requirements:

Ability to handle a multitude of tasks under deadline pressures and have the ability to work in a high-volume, high-demand (but highly collaborative, supportive, team-oriented) office.

Ability to be creative, enterprising, persuasive, and tactful.

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required.

Some travel, evenings and weekend hours required.

Ability and willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally.

Must meet the department’s core values of collaboration, aspiration, transparency, respect, accountability, and trust.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of five years of fundraising experience or equivalent sales, marketing, or customer relations experience required, with a proven track record of closing four to six-figure gifts preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in Higher Education preferred.

Additional Information:

This job is currently a hybrid position and may require a presence in the office up to five times a week, including for team and full staff meetings, events, and other times as directed by the supervisor.

Salary Range: $105, annually

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
