Salary: $90,000 – $105,000/annually
Location: Manhattan, NY – (4 days a week onsite)
Key Responsibilities
Restricted Revenue & Grant Management
Oversee the intake, tracking, and reconciliation of restricted gifts, pledges, and grants across multiple programs and campaigns.
Ensure restricted revenue is recorded accurately in Raiser’s Edge (RE) and reconciled regularly with Financial Edge (FE).
Maintain accurate documentation of donor restrictions, fund assignments, and grant reporting requirements.
Fund ID Strategy & Compliance
Serve as the organizational lead for Fund ID creation, updates, and audits across RE and FE.
Establish Fund ID structures aligned with campaign intent, program codes, and financial tracking needs.
Conduct regular audits to ensure consistency across fundraising and finance platforms.
Appeal Code & Event Fund Attribution
Maintain a structured appeal code system to ensure proper attribution of revenue to fundraising events and campaigns.
Partner with development and event staff to align event revenue tracking with donor reporting and internal benchmarks.
Resolve misaligned or missing appeal codes to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
Program Pricing & Funding Oversight
Collaborate with program operations to apply overhead and cost allocations to programmatic offerings (e.g., scholarships, missions, construction).
Monitor program inventory levels (available vs. sold units) across systems and departments.
Ensure program pricing and unit availability are reflected accurately in donor-facing materials and internal budgets.
Reconciliation & Financial Reporting
Support the Controller and Assistant Controller in posting restricted revenue from RE to FE and clearing outstanding adjustments.
Maintain backup documentation for all restricted revenue entries, including donor communications and allocation decisions.
Assist in producing financial reports for internal stakeholders and funders, ensuring timeliness and data integrity.
Process Improvement & Systems Alignment
Recommend workflow optimizations for restricted revenue tracking, including triage, appeal entry, batch processing, and reconciliation timing.
Identify data integrity risks and implement preventive strategies to maintain compliance with audit standards and GAAP principles.
Contribute to cross-team process documentation, training, and adoption of best practices for fund and revenue management.
Performance Metrics
Accuracy and timeliness of restricted gift entry and coding
Fund ID compliance across systems
Appeal code attribution rate and reconciliation speed
Completion and accuracy of financial and grant reporting
Program inventory and pricing reconciliation
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
3-5 years of experience managing restricted gifts or grants in a nonprofit setting
Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge (RE), Financial Edge (FE), or equivalent CRM and finance systems
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, data modeling, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
Familiarity with fund accounting, donor restrictions, and nonprofit audit practices
