Role Description

Union League Boys & Girls Clubs seeks a full-time Senior Accounting Manager to oversee the organization’s financial operations. This on-site position, located in the Greater Chicago Area, involves leading financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance efforts. Core responsibilities include managing general ledger activities, preparing month-end financial closes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and relevant regulations, overseeing payroll, and supporting financial audits. The Senior Accounting Manager will also collaborate with other departments to provide insights and guidance, contributing to informed strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills in financial reporting, general ledger management, and compliance with accounting principles and standards
  • Experience with payroll systems, budgeting, and financial planning
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and providing strategic recommendations based on data insights
  • Proven skills in team leadership, communication, and cross-department collaboration
  • Attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in nonprofit or youth-focused organizations is a plus
